The Maryland horse industry values equine welfare. Stories of horses that transitioned through the METS program will be posted here.
As a partner in The Right Horse Initiative, the Maryland Horse Council is proud to support a national movement reframing the conversation about equine adoption and transition. The Right Horse Initiative is a collective of industry professionals and equine welfare advocates working together to improve the lives of horses in transition through a dialogue of kindness and respect. Together, they are developing and testing innovative programs around the country to help horses find the best transition options.
METS was the result of this partnership.
Stories of the horses in transition clearly illustrate why the Maryland Horse Council has taken on this important project and why industry involvement is key to writing positive transition stories for all Maryland horses.
METS will start accepting calls to assist horses in summer 2018. In the meantime, read some of the heartwarming stories from other Right Horse Initiative partners on RHI’s Facebook page.
