Additional Information

Tom Tom is an adorable 20+ year old, 13.2h Haflinger gelding seeking a home as a companion or light riding horse. Originally purchased as a 3 year old for his owner’s stepson, Tom has since been used for camps, pony rides, lessons and trail rides. This boy has been there and done that in his 20+ years on this earth, and now he needs a place he can call home for the rest of his days. Due to his owner having difficulty keeping up with the farm, both physically and financially, Tom and his two herd mates (Petite Amour and Ears on Backwards) are in urgent need of new, loving homes.

Tom is beginner-friendly and would make a great kids’ pony for little ones just starting out in the horse world. Though not completely sound due to an old injury to his right hind fetlock, he may be able to handle the occasional lead line ride with a small child. We could also see him quietly following a youngster around the yard as they walk him on a loose lead, his mane braided with ribbons and flowers throughout. He’s just that laid back and easy-going. This boy deserves to be pampered to his heart’s content.

Tom tied for grooming and picking up all four hooves. He lets us look in his eyes and mouth with ease. He’s a chunker and would probably be a very easy-keeper (almost too easy) on grass. Tom is good for the vet and farrier, bathes, loads and is good in a mixed herd. He will need updating on shots, Coggins, dental and farrier care, but is updated on deworming.
