Additional Information

Thunder and Shadow are two Tennessee Walker full brothers seeking a new home where they can live out their days together. These two have been together their entire lives, have never left the property and have received only basic handling. So they are looking for someone experienced enough to care for them or even a trainer to work with them. From what we could tell, they are sound and healthy, and make good projects for someone wanting to dabble in ground work or liberty training.

Shadow (dark halter) was the first to approach us when we arrived and has quite the personality. He liked making goober faces at the camera and eagerly searched for treats in our hands and pockets. He’s the younger than Shadow by one year and is roughly 20 years old and 15.2h. He stood well for grooming and picking out his hooves. His owner informed us that he can be a bit challenging for the farrier, so someone who can work with him on basic handling and ground manners would be ideal. That being said, he’s a very nice boy with a fun personality that anyone would enjoy.

Thunder (red halter) is a year old than Shadow and is the chunkier of the two, standing at around 16h. His personality is a bit more reserved and shy, but you can tell he still loves attention and interaction. He too stood well for grooming, albeit a bit wiggly, and was well-behaved for picking out his hooves. He’d do well with a quiet, patient handler.

Both Shadow and Thunder are UTD on all shots, deworming, feet and Coggins. They are due for a dental, which their owner is going to try to have done soon. In the past, Shadow has had seasonal allergies and just completed a full round of allergy shots at the end of fall 2022. He is currently not receiving any allergy medications (and has needed them in winters past), so hopefully he will also not require them once warmer weather arrives. Shadow has also been dealing with some mild white line disease in a couple of his hooves, but he seems sound and comfortable. Both boys are barefoot, with otherwise solid feet. They are easy-keepers, living outside 24/7 and only receiving hay when needed. Otherwise, they are maintaining their weight on the grass pasture only.

If you feel you have the experience to give these boys a wonderful home and also bring them to their full potential, send us an inquiry and let’s chat!
