Stick to Roses (“Sticks”), a 2000 16h Thoroughbred gelding, is a puppy dog of a gelding looking for a companion home. After winning over $16,000 on the track, he was retired from racing in 2004. Pasture sound, barefoot, and up to date on everything, Sticks is an excellent babysitter and he has been watched over a number of young horses over the years. He gets along with every horse he meets, mares and geldings, big and small, old and young!
Sticks was recently diagnosed with EOTRH, which is currently not affecting his ability to eat in any way. As his condition progresses, he may eventually require soaked feed and forage alternatives, but it’s unknown if/when he will get to that point. For now, he’s able to eat normally without issue.
Sticks is good in a stall, but prefers to spend his days out in the pasture where he can roam and explore. He currently shares the farm with peacocks, chickens, goats, dogs, cats, a mule, donkey, ducks and geese, and gets along with all. He’s also used to children running in and around the barn without issue. Sticks loves to snuggle and truly wants to make his person happy. He’d be best suited for an intermediate handler.
If you’re looking for a great companion horse for any equine, Sticks may just be your guy!
