Queen Popstar, lovingly called “Queenie”, is a 2000, 13.1h registered Haflinger mare seeking a home as a companion pony. Originally from Alabama, Queenie was purchased by her current owner 10 years ago, along with her Nubian goat friends. Queenie’s goat friends have since passed away and she is now living alone. Due to this, and difficulty caring for her, her owner is now looking for a new forever home for Queenie where she can live out the rest of her days being loved on and gushed over.
Queenie is currently not housed with other equines, but has lived with them in the past without issue. She was spunky, yet friendly during our visit with her. She was very interested in who we were and we easily won her over with some pieces of carrot. She soaked up all of the attention we poured on her while we looked her over and groomed her. Considering Queenie has not had much done with her over the past ten years, she handled and moved off pressure well, and was very responsive and willing to lunge at the walk/trot in both directions. It’s clear this girl has had work put into her in a past life.
Queenie is up-to-date on deworming, trims, and shots, and her owner will be willing to draw a Coggins before she leaves for her new home. She does require a twitch to stand for needles, but is very well-behaved otherwise. Queenie is currently in need of a dental float. She’s been living out 24/7 with no issue, but has been stalled in the past. Queenie is a super easy-keeper, living only on hay even through the height of winter. This blonde beauty would be great for someone seeking a responsive companion horse with a little spunk and a great personality. Queenie would probably do well with someone interested in dabbling in some clicker training or liberty work, as she’s very willing to work and really likes the interaction. This girl will absolutely bond with her next special someone. Give her your consideration and inquire about her today!
