Manny is a super sweet 2002, 15.2h registered Thoroughbred gelding seeking a home as a companion. Purchased from a kill pen, Manny sustained an injury to his left stifle at some point in his life. He is pasture sound, but unable to be ridden and needs a home where he can live out his days just being spoiled and loved on.
This mellow boy is well-behaved enough for an advanced beginner to handle and enjoy. We observed Manny straight tie for grooming and he barely moved a muscle the entire time. He did act a bit uncomfortable when first asked to pick up his left hind (as you can see in his video), but was respectful about it and held it up upon second attempt. He lead like a dream and was very light through the lead rope with stopping and turning.
Manny is a hard-keeper and would do best in a home with lots of yummy, lush grass to eat a majority of the year. There’s also room in his diet to provide him with more calories to help him pack on the pounds. He also has a sarcoid on his right ribcage that doesn’t bother him and has had minimal growth in the time he’s been with his owner. He is good for the vet and farrier. Manny is currently barefoot and can probably stay that way as a companion only horse. He gets along with both mares and geldings, and tends to be low man on the totem poll in his herd. He does crib, but only when not wearing his collar. Manny is good in stalls, loads, bathes, sprays and is just an all-around good boy! If you have the means to provide this guy with an amazing home, let us know by inquiring soon!
