Joan’s Cat Bird (JC) is a 15.3h, 2013 registered Thoroughbred mare. She was last raced in 2017 with a total of 7 starts. She is UTD on deworming, farrier, and veterinary work, and comes with a current Coggins. JC is currently wears front shoes. She is currently on a solo turnout schedule, but her trainer believes she would benefit from being turned out in a small, established herd. She’s recently been turned out with one other mare and did well. This mare is a sensitive soul and is looking for someone to really take the time to work with her and gain her trust. Her trainer says she is fairly straightforward to ride, but an advanced handler is required as JC needs someone who is confident and firm with boundaries when handling on the ground. She can be a little jumpy and reactive to her surroundings when ridden alone outside of the indoor, so she would do best with a strong intermediate or advanced rider to help give her confidence. JC has an old deep digital flexor tendon injury in her right front, but is likely sound for light pleasure work under saddle. A PPE is recommended for anyone interested in doing more than light riding. JC cross ties, stands for grooming and the farrier, trailers, fly spray, baths, and leads and halters well.
